October Drop
Yo--Here's your fix for the month of October

First off …sorry this one’s late.
It’s October 9th, and I’m just now getting this out.
Between a few big projects, some travel for work and play (congrats to my dawg Pete), and trying to find time for rest.
I’ve been busy.
Makes me think, honestly.
Everyone says they’re “busy.”
It’s like the default answer now — “How’s life?” → “Busy, man.”
We wear it like a badge of honor, as if being busy automatically means we’re important, successful, or moving forward.
Truth is, I think it’s garbage and it annoys me. (forgive me for saying it yo)
Are you busy, or are you productive?
Or are you just saying it because you’re worried about what I think?
Some people act like if life isn’t chaotic, they’re somehow failing.
But there’s nothing wrong with slow seasons. Just own it.
Sometimes things are calm, and that’s good/ok.
It’s honestly where some real thought and clarity can happen.
“You might have one hour where you get a burst of creativity or insight that is worth the whole day’s work.”
— Shaan Puri (Podcast Notes source)
Value isn’t measured in hours worked. It’s measured in progress made or impact.
Progress can be slow but it doesn’t have to be “busy”.
I’ve really been struggling with this “busy”, though, on the reality of the brevity of life.
I’m now 32 and it feels like I just turned 22 yesterday.
Made me lean back into what it all means and the hope I have in Jesus.
I’ve been deep into studying who He really was, understanding His words, His actions, Him.
I can’t really think about much else honestly.
I also met a Muslim friend recently who challenged me (in a good way) to know what I believe and why.
That led me to read Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi. Phenomenal book, highly recommend it.
I’m also working through The Case for Christ . Another solid read if you’re curious about the foundations of faith and evidence.
The impact here is eternal.
Between that, work, and everything else going on, I’ve realized:
Busyness doesn’t always equal growth. And it can lead to missing life.
Slow down and don’t stress about being busy.
Focus on moving the needle. Whatever that means for you.
Be intentional. Be present. And when you do anything, make it count.
Regardless, I would encourage you to think about the eternal and how quickly the end of life comes.
What happens when you blink and get there?
