June Drop

Yo--Here's your fix for the month of June

Alright, let’s go.

Another month. Still writing. Appreciate you being here.

Again. 😄

I’ve really been doing some fun stuff and connecting with some cool folks lately (made a post about it here.)

Not because I have a killer network or crazy resume, literally just because I started putting myself out there.

That’s honestly been one of the most impactful things I’ve done in the past year.

The best of the fun by far was lunch with the CEO of a venture capital fund. Guy is a Marine and made time for peasant folk like me. (Has anyone ever been to Palmetto Cafe?)

Biggest takeaways from that convo:

  • The Drive Doesn't Fade: If you've got the entrepreneurial spark, it’s not going anywhere, lean into it or it’ll keep pulling at you.

  • Think Bigger in Sales: One well-placed client can open the door to thousands more. Look for creative angles that create unseen reach.

  • Price for the Long Game: Sometimes the real value isn’t in revenue, but in things like data and usage. Strategic pricing can lead to stronger exits later.

Seriously the nuggets you get from simple conversations with people like this are better than any graduate degree.

Moral of my story—>boldy ask cool people to hangout.

(Bonus points if you also connect them with me 😉).

I asked Brandon Dawson and Adam Coffey to lunch. I’ll keep asking until they say yes ha.

(Who else should I ask? let me know)

Fear of Being Seen

The hardest part of showing up online (or anywhere, really)?

Worrying about what people think.

But the more you do, the more you believe you can do.

Or like I’ve heard it said (can’t remember who):

“The more skills you have, the more skills you know you can learn.”

That’s been true for me. Essentailly your confidence grows the more you do.

I’ve learned way more just by being willing to start (publicly) than from waiting for it to be “ready.”

LinkedIn has been a great training ground for this.

Not because of anything special, but because you have to get over the fear of being seen.

Too many people are lurking, too afraid to interact because of who might see it.

Seriously, who cares?

Like Alex Hormozi said:

“Whose rules are you subscribing to?”

There’s also the common theme from some of the greatest founders, they have an extreme belief in themselves regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Check out the Founders podcast—>I get a lot of my ideas from there.

Just Say Yes

A buddy asked me to model for his brand. Not my comfort zone, but I said yes.
(You can check the photos if you’re curious… or just wanna roast me: see post).

Stuff like that leads to new convos, new friends, & cool memories.

Check out Driftwood apparel owned by my buddy Nick.

Riley Green got nothing on me 💪

Closer

Or if I suck, let me know 😆 .

Oh, almost forgot: solid read —> Empire Builder by Adam Coffey.

P.S. I’m still kicking around the idea of making some hats. If that’s your vibe, let me know.
